 SLEP(Secondary
Level English Proficiency)이란?
|
| SLEP 시험은 교환 학생 프로그램 참가 신청자의 영어 실력을
평가하기 위해 별도로 만들어진 시험은 아닙니다. 다만, TOEFL을 주관하고
있는 ETS(Educational Testing Service)사에서
SSAT 와 함께, 미국 내의 사립 고등학교를 진학 하고자 학생의
학업 수행 능력을 평가하기 위해 치러지고 있는 시험입니다. 그러나, SSAT나 SAT처럼 체계적으로 관리되지 않고, 3개의
유형으로 정해져 있다는 차이가 있습니다. 2003년까지 Form 1,2,3로
사용해왔으나, 2004년부터는 새로운 유형의 Form 4,5,6을 사용하고
있습니다.
SELP의 크게 Section
1과 Section 2로 나누어져 있으며,
Section 1은 듣기,
Section 2는 문법과
어휘 그리고 독해 등의 문제로 구성이 되어 있다. Form 1,2,3은
Section 1과
Section 2가 각각 75 문항씩으로 되어 있으며,
새로운 Form 4,5,6은 Section 1은
74문항, Section
2는 71문항으로 45분씩 총 90분간에 걸쳐서
치러지게 된다. |
| 시험 결과 |
| 결과는 Section별로 정답 수를 확인하여 정해진 기준에 따라
환산을 하게 됩니다. 유형에 따라 각각 66또는 67점을 만점으로
하고 있으며, 교환학생으로 참가하기 위해서는 50점 이상 점수를 얻어야
합니다. |

SECTION Ⅰ LISTENING COMPREHENSION
Directions for Questions 1~25
For each of these questions, you will hear four sentences. They will be
said only once. They are not written in your testbook. You have to listen
carefully in order to understand what the speaker says. While you are listening
to the four sentences, look at the picture in your testbook and choose the
one sentence that best describes what on see in picture. Then, on your answer
sheet, find the number of the problem and mark your answer. Look at the
sample picture in your testbook. Now listen to the four sentences.
Sentence B, "The door of the bus is open" best describes what
you see in the picture. Therefore, you should mark answer B.
Directions for Questions 26~45
For each of these questions, you will hear a sentence. It will be said only
once. In your testbook, you will find four sentences marked A, B, C, and
D. After you hear the complete sentence, read the four sentences and mark
the letter of the sentence that is exactly the same as the one you have
heard.
Here is the first example.

Directions for Questions 46~57
Look at the map on the opposite page. Starting at the top of the page and
moving down read all the names of the streets. Now, again starting at the
top of the map, look at each building and read the words that tell what
kind of building it is. You will also see four cars marked A, B, C, and
D. Find these cars now and notice which way each car is going(north, south,
east, or west). For each question, you will hear the conversations between
two people. You must decide in which car the conversation is taking place.
For example, you will hear :
Now look at the map on the opposite page.
The park is on Sea Road between Ford Avenue and Singer Avenue. Car D is
on Grant Street going toward Ford Avenue. Car D will turn right on Ford.
The park will be on the right. The correct answer is D.

Directions for Questions 58~75

the school nurse. When the talk stops, you will hear one or two questions
about it. For each question you will see four possible answers in your testbook.
Choose the correct answer and mark the letter of that answer on your answer

SECTION Ⅱ READING COMPREHENSION
Directions for Questions 1~12
For each of these questions, you will read a statement that relates to the
picture on the opposite page. In the picture, you will see the thought of

(B) a girl
(C) a man
(D) a young boy
Look at the picture first and study it. Then you read each statement, decide
which of the people in the picture made it. Mark the letter for that person
on your answer sheet.
For example :
"Poor Sam! He's locked behind bars. He must feel like he's in jail."
In the picture, the man is thinking this. The correct letter is C.
Directions for Questions 13~27
For each of these questions, you will read a sentence. Below each sentence
there are four pictures. Choose the picture that shows what the sentence
says.
For example, you read : There is a person in the room.
Picture D shows a man in a room. D is the correct answer.

four possible choices. Pick the choice that best completes the sentence
